Crimson™ Tomato Salad

Our Crimson tomato salad makes a great summer salad with fresh ingredients and in-season berries, but can also play a role in your holiday side dish game! Our Crimson tomatoes are proprietary varieties made to grow fresh and beautifully in the winter season, making them our most popular FL tomato. They are grown to be disease resistant and attracted to the sunshine, while also ripening red right through, giving them extra lycopene antioxidants and other enriching vitamins and nutrients.

We love using our Crimsons as an ingredient in sandwiches, soups, or tacos, but this Crimson salad really lets the ripened tomato shine as the star of the show. The juiciness from the thick slices and sweetness from the blackberries pair really well with the bitterness from the arugula and onion, and the saltiness from the feta crumbles. It’s a super simple salad but full of bursting flavors you can enjoy any time of year!

Crimson™ Tomato Summer Salad

Servings: 4   |   Prep Time: 6 minutes

2-3 Crimson™ tomatoes, sliced
2 avocados, sliced
1 pint blackberries
1 red onion, sliced
3-4oz baby arugula
2-3oz crumbled feta cheese
Chopped fresh basil
Extra virgin olive oil
Salt & pepper to taste

Lay a bed of baby arugula on a serving dish and layer sliced Crimson tomatoes, blackberries, sliced avocado, and red onion on top.

Top with crumbled feta and lots of fresh basil and season with salt and pepper. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and enjoy!
