Transportation Analyst/Accountant

Summary

The ideal candidate will drive the reporting of transportation information for Lipman inbound and outbound freight. Additionally, this candidate will be responsible for the accounting transportation costs to ensure proper recording and ability to report necessary information for decision making. This individual will also be responsible for identifying trends, problems and then analyze and develop resolution plans in combination with operational teams to develop new reports and potentially assist in the integration of a new TMS system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reporting of transportation information for Lipman inbound and outbound freight
  • Provide analysis and input to internal and external business partners to support business specifications and process improvements. Participating in and contributing to final decisions that have direct and moderate to significant impact on departmental, business-units, and/or company
  • Develop strategic and tactical performance metrics. Makes recommendations to improve process using process modeling, data flow analysis and bench-marked best practices
  • Perform fact based, data driven analysis, and modeling on significant amounts of data across the supply chain for the purpose of turning it into actionable information
  • Produce effective written and oral presentations of information designed to communicate clearly to audience or end user
  • Think strategically and analyze information to provide meaningful insight and input to deals
  • Think creatively and contribute to developing strategy and structuring of business
  • Facilitate the identification of logistics savings projects with division leaders and monitor their progress with Finance to validate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Transportation, preferred
  • 3-5 years’ experience in transportation accounting/analysis; required
  • Well rounded knowledge on inbound/outbound transportation activities; required
  • Ability to prepare and format management reports
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience pulling data from a variety of sources and systems
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently both individually and in a team environment
  • Experience in managing changing priorities coming from different business owners
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills; Business Intelligence experience preferred
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized, detailed oriented
  • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
