Summary

Director of Greenhouse Supply to manage operations of all Lipman greenhouse facilities with a staff of 160.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and support Lipman contract Greenhouse Growers in Central America
  • Liaise and Coordinate Greenhouse production with Lipman Marketing team including timing and Volume of Production and introduction of new varieties and products
  • Coordinate with Lipman plant breeding division to develop proprietary Greenhouse varieties
  • Introduce and implement new packaging systems
  • Develop and implement strategic plan for protected AG division
  • Plan and direct expansion and capital upgrades at existing greenhouse facilities
  • Identify and pursue new greenhouse growth opportunities in North and Central America
  • Work closely with Lipman executive and management team to align protected AG strategy and operations with Lipman overall objectives
  • Support and consult Lipman Executive Team when evaluating protected AG related acquisitions
  • Present to Lipman Management, BOD and industry organizations as required.Will travel 60% US and Int’l travel to manage growing facilities

Education

  • Requires Bachelor’s (or foreign education equivalent) Degree in Agriculture AND
  • Eight (8) years (post-degree, progressive) experience in Greenhouse Supply Director

Experience

  • Report and present independently on project and/or industry issues to BOD, CEO and CFO and industry organizations
  • Design and planning of 40-100 acre greenhouse projects meeting technological requirements to achieve top growing conditions in specific geographic regions, develop capital and operating budgets for presentation to partners and financial institutions
  • Greenhouse Project Construction and Start up Management including ensuring compliance with International, Federal, State and Local regulations (Building Code, Environmental, Import and Immigration) and on schedule and on budget completion
  • Oversee and manage existing Greenhouse projects in various locations including hiring and management of key personnel, H2A petition preparation and planning and ensuring compliance protocols are audit ready
  • Development of system wide seasonal production schedules, trial schedules and varieties while interfacing with in-house plant breeding department
  • Use of industry specific software including Priva GH Control, Priva Assist Labor Management Software, Famous Product Shipping and Inventory Management Software
